For those who don't know, the Lumberjack is located in Webb Lake, Wisconsin, and it has been a family favorite since the Cornwells bought their cabin a few years ago.  It didn't take long for the Webb Lake community to welcome us all, and they learned very quickly how great Kirk and his family really are.  In fact, Kirk earned us a spot on the Lumberjack's St. Patty's Day float during one of the first weekends there, and he's been on it every year since!  Melissa was even crowned Queen of the St. Patty's Day festivities just a year later!

It's been a little while since our last post, but here are some updates from the last few weeks.

The Target India family created a videogram for Kirk!  The link is below, and it can also be found on the Team Kirk page with the other Target photos and on Kirk's You Tube channel.

Two event reminders, since they're coming up quickly:

September 19, 2015 (1:00 pm): Join us for a benefit on the lake, complete with a chicken feed, raffles, door prizes, a silent auction, and a bake sale!  Some of the items available include a big screen TV, kayak, and an original pastel professionally framed.

September 26, 2015 (9:30 am): Join us for a co-ed softball game at Concordia St. Paul.  Cost is $75 per person, which includes softball entry, a "Concordia 4 Kirk" t-shirt, pizza or hot dogs & beverage, admission to CSP vs Bemidji State football is free with "Concordia 4 Kirk" shirt.  If you haven't registered and you'd like to play, contact Mark "Lunch" McKenzie.

A Record-Breaking Tailgate

We had an amazing turnout for the first Gopher tailgate of the season!  Alexa showed her Gopher pride in her adorable onesie, and Kirk even made an appearance via FaceTime.  He made sure to let us know his previous record for tailgaters was 60, and we definitely beat it!

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped organize, make food, and man the grill, especially Jeff Bakal and Barbara Bakal, the Target crew, the Schoenbergs, Kroekers, and Piens, and the Woodbury Lutheran Church small group!

 

The Gopher cheerleaders even made an appearance at the hospital to give Kirk a dose of game day! (And notice... NO MORE TRACHE!)
