Rock 4 Kirk

Famous Dave's in Uptown was all maroon and gold on Friday, as Team Kirk packed the place in support of Kirk, Melissa, and Alexa!  A huge THANK YOU to Famous Dave's, and to Todd and Traci Zieper for putting on such an amazing event and for pulling together so many great silent auction items!!! Thank you to the bands for donating your time and musical talents to the evening as well. Our next Team Kirk event is coming up in January.  Move your body and strengthen your spine, while helping us reach a goal of $2,500 for Kirk's ongoing therapy.  Classes will be taught by Life Time Fitness instructors and fellow 2005 Woodbury grads.  More details can be found on the "Calendar" page and through the Facebook group.  Please join us!

BEL13VE In Miracles

Thanks to the efforts of the BEL13VE In Miracles Foundation, $300,000 has been contributed to new research on spinal cord injuries at Mayo Clinic, specifically related to epidural stimulation therapy.  At Saturday's fundraiser, A Night to BEL13VE, NHL great Jeremy Roenick, former Yankee David Wells, former Minnesota Wild defenseman Jordan Leopold and WCCO’s Mark Rosen, along with countless others, gathered to show their support to spinal cord research.  The WCCO crew was also on-hand, and their newscast can be seen here: WCCO - Night to BEL13VE

TeamKirk represented as well, including Baby Alexa in her Wild jersey. She even wore headphones to drown out the crowd at the game, and she looked pretty adorable!  Here are some pictures from the night:

If you've been following the Caring Bridge site, you know that Kirk has been absolutely killing it in therapy and has made some significant strides in his recovery!

As always, thank you all for your continued love, support, and prayers during Kirk's recovery.  If you're looking for a new way to help out, Lucas Ingram is setting up another meal calendar for Kirk's amazing caretakers, as volunteering time after work typically does not allow them time to eat a home cooked meal.  If you're interested, please contact Lucas or keep an eye out, and we'll pass along the link when it becomes available.

• Even though we don't have any special Team Kirk events planned right now, we want to make you aware of another upcoming event through the BEL13VE In Miracles Foundation.
• A Night to BEL13VE is a gala for hockey enthusiasts and supporters of spinal cord injury research.  Tickets include a Pre-Game Dinner, Live & Silent Auctions, and Special Program, and can also include a ticket to see the sold out Minnesota Wild vs. Tampa Bay Lightning hockey game that night at Xcel Energy Center!
• According to the website, last year's event drew 18,000 fans, as well as members of the 1980 Miracle on Ice Team.

Concordia 4 Kirk

I know this is an extremely delayed post, but THANK YOU to everyone who came out to the Concordia 4 Kirk softball game last weekend!  We had a great turnout! It was wonderful to see Team Kirk continue to grow, and to feel the love from a community that Kirk holds very dear to his heart. Lunch McKenzie and Concordia Athletics, you are AWESOME, and we appreciate the hard work you put in to make this event so great.  Thank you!
